Bistra Jewish Cemetery is located in Maramures county on the Viseu valley on the roud between Viseu de Sus and Sighetu Maramatiei just near by the Maramures Mts. Bistra Village is located in the narrow section of the Viseu valley like a gorge and its landscape is beatiful. his locationd was found very intersting by jewish people because is situated on the half way between two main twons from Maramures and they settled here. There were not too much jews since the cemetery is really small. We visited this small cemetery situated just on the right bank of the river. It contain around 50-60 tombstones and a nice young lady take care about them. It is fanced and has an locked gate. We took pictures too all the tombstones and built up an CD-ROM called Bistra Jewish Cemetery.
